Starting ISAT on a Chromebook

Preparing the Chromebook

Chromebooks are a viable device for ISAT testing. In order to get the device ready for testing there are a few easy steps. Before testing with the device you should check three things.

  1. Ensure the Chromebook is fully charged. The device has enough battery to last 9-12 hours, so if it is fully charged it does not need to be plugged in during the test.
  2. Ensure that the volume is turned up by clicking the icons in the bottom right and moving the sound slider to the right.
  3. Ensure that the devices are updated with the latest edition of Chrome OS.
    1. Login to the Chromebook
    2. Click the icons in the bottom right and select the settings gear icon
    3. When the window loads, click “About Chrome OS”
    4. Select the “Check for and apply updates” button and the device will download the latest update and install it if one is available.

Opening AirSecure Test in Kiosk Mode

To enter into the secure ISAT testing kiosk application:

  1. Turn the Chromebook on and do not login
  2. Click on “Apps” in the bottom left hand corner
  3. Select AirSecureTest
  4. The first time you load this app on a Chromebook you will have to select Idaho for the State. Then it will take you to the login window and the device is ready to use for testing.
