Confirm Status during Emergency
Informacast Fusion notification allow users to confirm their status during an emergency. Depending on how you choose to receive the responses, the steps are a little different.
Informacast Mobile App
If you install the Informacast App on your phone, you can manage your settings and notifications directly from the App. In an emergency, a message to your phone via the App and notifies you. The App is also the only method that allows dispatch to track your location during an event.
During an event, the first thing that will happen is that you will receive a notification and loud alert sound on your device.
When you click the notification, it will open the Informacast App to the current incident. The District asks you to Confirm your status, click the button to begin.
Confirmation is simple, just select one of the 4 choices about your general location and safety status.
The last step of the confirmation process is confirming your choice and that you know your location will be shared with LPOSD while the incident is active. This step allows dispatch and LPOSD security to know where people are and if they are safe.
Once you self register with Informacast, if there is an incident in a building you are associated with, you will get an email stating that their is an event at your school, and 4 buttons that allow you to choose your current safety status. There is no location tracking with this options because it is not connected to a GPS capable device application.
SMS Message
If you self registered with Informacast and chose SMS, you will receive a text message about any incident at a location you are associated with. Open the text, and you can reply back with the numbers 1-4 to give your current safety status. There is no location tracking with this options because it is not connected to a GPS capable device application
Computer: Desktop Notifier
All District Windows machines have Informacast Desktop Notifier on them. When an incident occurs, the machines will receive a notification, and you can respond from the application on your machine. Click the Respond button, then answer the question about your safety status. This status is attributed to the logged in user on the system, and the location of that machine is tracked by IP if necessary.
